This World of Work pathway focusses on young people learning how to use tools safely while working in the school vegetable garden or at a local farm.  This includes using tools to dig, weed, water and plant seeds, bulbs and young plants which they are supported to care for until they are able to harvest them.

The objective is to provide them with the skills needed to engage in a gardening activity which supports their physical and mental health and wellbeing. 

While learning these skills, there may be opportunities to work towards the ASDAN Horticulture or, in the Post 16 class, the ASDAN World of Work Horticulture Assistant Care modules.
