Family Footings
We welcome partnership working with parents and carers and encourage your input into the practical decision making processes that affect your son or daughter at school
Our Family Footing Facilitator is available to help with:
- Listening to opinions and perspectives of each child / young person and their family about how we support them at school
- Working with professionals involved in their children’s lives in a person centred way
- Supporting families through the life of the school (from start to finish)
- Signposting to other support

Admissions - Home Visits to get to know the child/ young person and their family before their first day at school so that we can offer the best start possible to this new environment.

Settling in / Transition work with classroom staff - track the needs of the child/ young person and what works best for their families to ensure a smooth start to their school life
- Helping children/ young people to adapt to new people and new environments
- Regular ways to check that each young person receives the right personalised education that makes sense to them – this is informally and in formal review settings
- Opportunities to develop support networks for families
